Meet the Partners

The South Australian Government will deliver the Kanyini Space Services Mission, led by the SmartSat Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) in partnership with South Australian companies Inovor Technologies and Myriota.

The South Australian Space Industry Centre (SASIC) is the South Australian Government representative on the Kanyini Mission. Established in 2017, the agency is responsible for driving the growth of the South Australian space industry through innovation, research and entrepreneurial development.

With a team of staff from Defence SA, Department for Trade and Investment, and Department for Innovation and Skills, SASIC coordinates and implements industry and workforce development through initiatives, events, scholarships and an incubator program.

The SmartSat Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) is a consortium of universities, research organisations and industry partners, partly funded by the Australian Government under the CRC program. SmartSat facilitates the research and development of satellite technologies, intellectual property and specialist expertise for the betterment of the Australian space sector.

SmartSat CRC is leading the space services mission and application prototyping for Kanyini, as well as leading research and development projects in onboard AI, analysis of hyperspectral imagery and efficient satellite operations.

Inovor Technologies is an Adelaide-based space and defence company offering specialist development services and satellite mission solutions. The company is known for its unique vertical integration approach to building satellites to meet the needs of their end-users.

Inovor Technologies has led the design, build, and flat-sat testing of Kanyini so it can survive being launched into lower Earth orbit.

Myriota is a telecommunications service provider specialising in Internet of Things (IoT) technology, delivering disruptively low-cost and long-battery-life global connectivity solutions. Myriota successfully achieved their world-first transmission of IoT data direct to nanosatellite in 2013 and have been growing on this ever since.

Myriota is providing the Internet of Things (IoT) space services for the mission, collecting the data produced by the payloads and returning it to Earth.
